New product standards available

The first two European product stand (http://maplered.com) ards for natural Stone (http://g603.net) were published last month. The DIN EN 1467 stand (http://maplered.com) ard for rough blocks and (http://maplered.com) DIN EN 1468 for rough Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) provide a definition of the terms plus the necessary tests in each case.

The DIN EN 1467 stand (http://maplered.com) ard for rough blocks mainly contains the definitions of the gross and (http://maplered.com) net sizes of the blocks. The following additional features must also be stated: The dimensions as per DIN EN 13373, volume and (http://maplered.com) mass, petrographic designation of the Stone (http://g603.net) as per DIN EN 12440, visual definition of the appearance, rough density and (http://maplered.com) open porosity as per DIN EN 1936. Other properties only need to be tested if specifically requested.

The DIN EN 1468 stand (http://maplered.com) ard for rough Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) contains definitions plus the requirements for geometric properties, such as thickness tolerances. The dimensions and (http://maplered.com) flatness as per DIN EN 13373 and (http://maplered.com) the surface finish must also be stated. As is the case for rough Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) , the petrographic designation of the Stone (http://g603.net) , rough density and (http://maplered.com) open porosity must be based on DIN EN 12440 and (http://maplered.com) DIN EN 1936. EN 1468 also only requires other properties to be tested if specifically requested.

The two stand (http://maplered.com) ards are not covered by European mand (http://maplered.com) ates, so CE marking is not planned. The tests already carried out for rough blocks and (http://maplered.com) rough Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) can, however, be used for the necessary CE marking of the subsequently produced wall and (http://maplered.com) floor Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) and (http://maplered.com) natural Stone (http://g603.net) Tiles (http://www.g682.net) .

The two stand (http://maplered.com) ards will only be used by special agreement. The manufacturer can declare that his rough blocks or rough Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) conform to the requirements of prEN 1467 ?Specifications for rough blocks, or prEN 1468 - Specifications for rough Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) , but he cannot issue a CE marking.
